THE MONSTER WAKES, Part 1

While Sonic is away in the Special Zone, the Freedom Fighters - Amy, Tails, Johnny and temporarily Shortfuse and Tekno - are speculating about using Tekno's secret workshop as their base. As luck would have it, Knuckles flies past on his pterodactyl (see contemporary Knuckles installments) and is nabbed by the gang to dig out their new skills. Knuckles, a little put out that his help isn't required for some new monster, but merely to do a little redecorating, obliges nevertheless before leaving. As the gang are looking around the dug out area (Knuckles had done a great job), the torchlight falls on an open eye. The side of the hill begins to rumble and an enormous dragon rears its head. Turns out that it's been awoken early from its sleep and is not in the best of moods.
