Lara-Su a "Wolverine Rip-off!?"

Ever since I put up some of those Knuckles: 20 Years Later spoilers in Sonic HQ, I've been hearing a little complaints about it... Well, mostly the fact that Sonic and Sally's kids will be named after the sibs in Sonic Underground. But I also heard a few complaints about Lara-Su being a "Wolverine rip-off" just because she has the ability to "retract" her knuckles. Lemme tell you something, she isn't. Let's compare her and Wolverine.

Lara-Su's knuckles are not claws. Plus her knuckles would probably come out of her knuckles, not out of the top of her hands or forearms or whatever the way Wolverine does.

Her knuckles aren't going to be as long as Wolverine's claws. Wolverine's claws are part of his skeleton (I believe) and Lara's knuckles... I wouldn't really know, maybe they could be made of bone, or hard skin or something like that.

Which goes to show another point. All we know about Lara are the following facts: She's 14 years old, she's Knuckles's and Julie-Su's daughter, and she's got rectractable knuckles. So some people are complaining about Lara-Su being a ripoff just because she's got retracting ability? We haven't even seen this character yet! How do you know if she's a Wolverine rip-off?! That's a bunch o' BS. That's like saying that Wolverine's a rip-off of a cat, because cats retract their claws, too.

A lot of things have similarities, but that doesn't make them all rip-offs. Take Hercules and Super Man. They both have super strength! Then there's characters like Speedy Gonzalas, the RoadRunner, and Sonic the Hedgehog. What do they have in common: super speed! How about the Savage Dragon and The Hulk? They're both green! Venom, Carnage, and ClayFace (from Batman) all have the ability to form weapons out of their bodies, and retract them back once they're done with them... Retract?! They have the ability to retract something, like Wolverine can retract his claws. Wow, they must be rip-offs, too, just because they all can retract something, right? Wrongo!

So how can you guys say that Lara-Su is a "Wolverine Rip-Off?" Wolverine acts like a street-crawling, blood-thirsty maniac. Is Lara-Su like that? No, she's a guardian of the Floating Island and its Master Emerald. A very BIG difference if you ask me. So I think a Sonic fan shouldn't get technical when it comes to ripping off characters.

I think that some Sonic fans are angry at this because since a lot of people are so angry with Archie (for their bad stories and bogus characters, etc.), that they consider whatever Archie does is always bad. The comic's starting to go downhill, that's true, but not everything Archie does is bad. So lighten up!
