This is the worse thing that Archie Comics has done. It surpasses anything that ever seemed crazy before, like the creation of Zonic, which doesn't make sense. However, Zonic or any other silly characters or stories do not even come close to this one. This is a no win situation for everyone who reads the comics to read them like I do and not just to collect. The Knuckles stories are going to suck now, or come close to it. There is absolutely no way that anyone can change stories that were meant to be 16 pages into 6 and still have a good story. It's not happening. They could print the stories as they were basically originally going to be, but a 48 page story (3 issues of 16 pages) would take 8 issues of Sonic to complete. That's torture, because just as you get into the story, it'll end. Another problem is that the Sonic continuity would be waaaay ahead of Knuckles if they did it that way. The reason for this "problem" in the first place are two companies. The first is Wal-Mart for taking Knuckles of the shelves because of their Marvel, Image, or whatever other comics they sold that were considered to be inappropriate for a child according to some mother. The Knuckles and Sonic series are nothing like those and are for children as well as adults (I'm 18). The second company to blame is Archie themselves. I don't care what they say about SEGA not helping them, which is true, but they did not help themselves. I still have not heard any explanation for why the Knuckles books aren't sold in the exact same stores as the Sonic books. Another problem is their own website. They promote their Archie books and they promote Sonic. However, there's nothing there to promote Knuckles except a tiny little blurb about Knuckles. There's nothing there on his family or even the Chaotix who have been his pals for a long time. Sales may be down a lot because Wal-Mart took the books of the shelves, but Archie should try to help themselves. Instead of promoting books that they no longer publish, they should have been promoting Knuckles. I do agree that SEGA could have helped by having a copy of each book be bought with DC. However, Archie is cancelling Knuckles before the sales came in from when they said the book was going to become bi-monthly. Therefore, Archie is not giving Knuckles a real chance and are playing chicken. It was the end June, practically July, when they decided to make the book bi-monthly. In early September, only 2 and 1/2 months later, they decide to cancel the book. I've lost respect for Archie, but they're forcing me to buy Sonic. Even if I only get 6 pages of Knuckles a month, I get it because Knuckles is my most favorite character in the world and I've gotten so used to reading a new Knuckles story every month, that I'd probably go crazy if I didn't. No matter what the sales say: KNUX COMIX RULE!!!!!!
