Knuckles and Juli-Su Cousins?

The subject of Knuckles and Juli-Su being distant cousins has been raised in many chats. While this is true they are extremely distant cousins. Knuckles has something like 200 years between himself and his grandfather that was Dimitre's cousin. This means that if you take into account the other Gardians marriages he shares a very small percentage of the same DNA with his ancestor. This is like someone today marrying the great decendent of their ancestor who fought in the Revolutionary War (1776). I think this was an interesting twist to the story with lots of possibilities. Sorry if this annoys anyone.
