This game is a product of lock-on technology. In this game, you can only play as Knuckles, who has to stop Robotnik, even though the game does not take place on the Floating Island at all.

SPECIAL STAGE

When you activate a star post and have at least 50 rings, you'll go to a special stage where you get chaos emeralds. You try to avoid hitting bombs while collecting the required number of rings.
